Indivisible MoCo's Weekly Action Items

Each week we publish a suggested Action Item.  Typically it involves contacting (via phone, email, twitter, text, etc.) your elected officials to encourage them to take a specific position on an important issue.  In as little as 2 or 3 minutes each week, you can make your voice heard!

Take 2 minutes and make a difference!

Action Item for September 18, 2017

It appears that the Graham-Cassidy ACA repeal bill just may pass. We can't sit back on this one and think it will be the same as the last failed repeal/replace efforts. This needs our input. We need to contact the senators voting for the repeal. (in "bold" type in the following list.)
Let's try Twitter and say “No to Graham-Cassidy”

Action Item for September 4, 2017

The Trump administration announced Sep. 5 that it would start to unwind the “Dreamers” program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA), which allowed younger, undocumented immigrants to live in the United States without fear of deportation. Now the ball is in Congress’s court and our legislators must quickly move to support and pass the reintroduced DREAM Act to protect Dreamers. Let’s tell our Senators to Stand Up for DACA and Co-Sponsor S.1615 and H.R. 3591:
CALL: Sen Van Hollen 202-224-4654…Sen Cardin 202-224-4524

Action Item for August 28, 2017

Trump is threatening to shut down the government if Congress does not fund his wall. Let’s stand up to him and make it clear that he can’t extort his way to a wall that the majority of Americans don’t want.
CALL….Sen. Van Hollen 202-224-4654…Sen. Cardin 202-224-4524

Action Item for August 21, 2017

Trump’s response to the Charlottesville riots is horrifying and unacceptable, which is why we need to call on Congress to formally CENSURE him for refusing to explicitly call out white supremacy and call it terrorism. House members can sign on to a resolution to formally censure that has been introduced by Reps. Coleman, Jayapal, and Nadler.
CENSURE is a formal, public statement of disapproval that requires a vote by Congress.
CALL….Rep. Delaney 202-225-2721…Rep. Raskin 202-225-5341

Action Item for August 14, 2017

EXPRESS OUTRAGE about the ALT-RIGHT demonstrations in Charlottesville and Seattle.  Demand that Senators Van Hollen and Cardin join colleagues on both sides of the aisle in denouncing the ‘Unite the Right’ white supremacist rallies.  Protecting free speech does not equate to silence on matters of racism, hate and violence.
CALL….Sen. Cardin 202-224-4524…Sen. Van Hollen 202-224-4654
